Webinar: ACE Network Position Paper Launch
This webinar will bring together policymakers, researchers, funders and industry leaders to discuss the strategic importance of Automatic Control Engineering (ACE) in delivering the UK’s ambitions in AI, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and national security.

Control 2026
The ACE & UKACC Control Conference 2026, a flagship conference for the automatic control community, will take place from 23–25 June 2026, bringing together the UK control community for three days of discussion, exchange, and engagement across academia, industry, and practice. Hosted at Newcastle University’s Frederick Douglass Centre, offering modern facilities in the heart of a vibrant and accessible city.

AI and Data Talk Series
We are thrilled to announce the AI and Data Talk Series — an engaging lecture series presented by the ACE AI and Data Grand Challenge Research Committee. This series aims to elevate awareness and foster dialogue among a diverse audience, including established researchers, industry professionals, and early career scholars, about the vital intersection of control theory and AI technologies.

Post-Event Report: Clean Growth Industry and Roadmap Workshop
The ACE Clean Growth committee focuses on harnessing the power of Automatic Control Engineering to drive sustainable innovation, tackle complex climate and energy challenges, and support the UK’s Net-Zero ambitions through smart, efficient systems across energy, manufacturing, and agriculture. This event served as a collaborative platform for experts from academia, industry, and policy to engage in meaningful discussion about the essential challenges of achieving a low-carbon future.

AI and Data Sandpit Workshop
Join us on 23 January 2026 at the City St George’s, University of London for the ACE Network’s Sandpit workshop of the AI and Data Theme.
The ACE, AI and Data GCRC (https://ukcontrol.org/gcrc-ai-and-data) leverages the synergy between Automatic Control Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, with diverse applications that include autonomous systems, healthcare systems, energy systems, and manufacturing applications.

Post-Event Report: ACE Future Mobility Sandpit Workshop
The ACE Sandpit Workshop, held on 8 September 2025 at the University of Sheffield, focused on exploring the role of automatic control in the rapidly evolving field of future mobility. The event sought to address key challenges within the domain of automatic control engineering and its application in mobility systems.
