ACE Network Mentor Scheme
The ACE Network Mentor Scheme is led by our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Group and aims to support a more inclusive and diverse Automatic Control Engineering community.
The scheme connects members of the control engineering community with mentors who can offer guidance, share their experience and provide support with career and professional development. It is open to those who would benefit from mentoring at different stages of their career.
The scheme forms part of the ACE Network’s wider commitment to improving representation within control engineering, particularly among women and other underrepresented groups, and helping to ensure that everyone has access to opportunities, networks and support.
Who is it for?
We welcome:
Mentees: PhD students, early-career researchers or academics, and individuals from underrepresented groups who are looking for support, guidance, or new professional connections.
Mentors: Colleagues from both academia and industry who are keen to share their experiences, offer advice, and help shape the next generation of researchers and professionals.
What does the scheme offer?
Mentor-mentee matching, based on shared interests, career stage, and (if preferred) EDI-related identities or lived experiences.
A chance to build longer-term mentoring relationships that support professional growth, collaboration, and mutual learning.
In-person networking opportunities at ACE events, where mentors and mentees can connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen community ties.
