Karl Henrik is a fellow of IEEE and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IEEE Control Systems Society Distinguished Lecturer, Swedish Research Council Distinguished Professor (rådsprofessor), IEEE Control Systems Society Vice President for Diversity, Outreach & Development, past President of the European Control Association, Member of the IFAC Council and past member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Board of Governors (2009,2016-2018).

He is an Editorial Board member of Annual Review of Control, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems, ACM Transactions on Internet of Things, and ACM Transactions on Cyber-Physical Systems, past Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, European Journal of Control, and IET Control Theory & Applications, and past Senior Editor of IEEE Transactions on Network Systems, past Director of ACCESS Linnaeus Centre, 2009-2016, and Strategic Research Area ICT TNG, 2013-2020 and Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Networked Systems, 2008-2011, and IFAC Awards Committee, 2017-2020.
